GLOBAL MISSIONS

Part of the fabric of our church has been our passion for reaching outside our own communities—and in this case, our own country—to serve others. Through partnerships with other organizations, schools, and foundations, we have sent people to Alaska, Haiti, Nicaragua, Ecuador, and Ukraine—for a variety of service opportunities.

Nicaragua

Our mission teams to Nicaragua are coordinated through Nicaragua Resource Network, a Carmel based ministry that is committed to helping create sustainable life change and long-term impact in Nicaragua.

We have been involved in the town of Los Brasiles, Nicaragua for 19 years.  During that time, we have made improvements to Hogar de Fe children's home, and improved the facilities at Josue 1:8 Christian school and Josue 1:9 church.  We have also worked on constructing several homes in the community.  Non-construction activities included Vacation Bible School programs, women’s ministry programs, and personal involvement with students and families sponsored by team members or church members.

For the past several years, we have partnered with the Serve Him Foundation. The foundation operates a ministry center in Los Brasiles, which oversees several programs, including ministry to elderly residents, coordinating food distribution to the families in crisis, and administering Jehova Jireh Christian School.  Jehova Jireh was founded by Nicaragua Resource Network three years ago, at the request of families in Los Brasiles.

Ecuador

Service Teams from Hope Covenant have made annual trips to Ecuador since 2004. For the past five years we have worked with the Foundation for Ecuadorian Community Advancement of the Iglesia del Pacto Evangélico del Ecuador (the Evangelical Covenant Church of Ecuador). Joel and Kim Delp are Covenant missionaries who help with in-country logistics. We provide mobile dental and medical services for Quichua amerindians in mountain villages around Cayambe.  Community Advancement activities of the Covenant Church of Ecuador including the service activities of Hope Covenant Church around Cayambe can be followed on www.santiagopartnership.org and www.facebook.com/SantiagoPartnership

Haiti

Starting in 2001, we have also sent service teams to be involved with providing mobile dental care for individuals in underserved villages in Haiti. Two of our members assisted with post-surgical patients following the severe Haiti earthquake in 2010. In the years since then, individuals from Hope have provided dental care in villages surrounding Cap Haitien in conjunction with the Emmaus Fellowship of Churches (One Mission Society) and Bethesda Medical and Dental Center in Vaudreuil Haiti. Check out the Bethesda Medical facebook page to learn more up-to-date information: www.bethesdamedical.org

Part of our church’s annual budget is designated to support the global mission outreach of our parent denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Church, with individuals serving in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Hope Covenant Church currently provides designated support for some of those missionaries and their families. For more information on global missions see https://covchurch.org/serve-globally/
